Homework

How much homework is assigned?

Students in test prep programs should expect to do 2-3 hours of homework per week, which is 15-25 minutes per day of outside work. Please note that sometimes there may be slightly more homework if a practice test is assigned, but the workload will be adjusted to fit your child’s schedule.

If receiving math help, homework will depend on your child’s math class and specific needs.

What is included in homework assignments?

Practice tests are part of the homework for students in test prep programs. They are important because they allow students to practice their skills and strategies, learn from their mistakes, and keep track of their progress.

Other homework assignments include worksheets, online quizzes, and concept modules to review concepts or work on areas of improvement.

Why is homework required?

I am a teacher and a resource for students. I play a part their success, and I guarantee that I will provide their with the tools and support needed to succeed. But they play the largest part in their success. After learning a new concept or strategy, it is important to practice to become good at it. The homework I assign gives students the chance to do just that and maximize their results.

Can exceptions be made to the homework requirement?

I very rarely make exceptions to the homework requirement. If exceptions are to be made, it is important to me that the student and parents understand that the student will not be making the most of the program and achieving the best results possible.

I understand that schedules fill up and life events happen, and I can make reasonable adjustments as needed. But I ask that your child be prepared for the time commitment that is involved with a successful test prep program.
